Enneagram of Personality Types

The enneagram of personality types did not originate with Gurdjieff, and has been "de-emphasized" within the 4th Way. Nevertheless, it contains many useful insights into how we see and interact with the world. Follow the links below for a description of the types and how to use this system.

The following web sites have information about various aspects of the enneagram typing system and the 9 enneagram types. In addition, a Google search will produce many other links.

Personal comment from JH: This link is to a long and rambling letter written by Oscar Ichazo as part of an ongoing argument with Helen Palmer and others within the community of practitioners using the enneagram as a typing system. The letter is interesting from the point of view that it includes a detailed critique of Gurdjieff, Ouspensky, Bennett and others. Where I have personal knowledge of the material in the letter I find his accuracy to be uneven at best. However, I think he makes some very valid points.
